Just a small update regarding the EPC review situation. The latest info we have is that from October an EPC will be required within 7 days of a property being marketed for sale or rent, along with the lifespan of an EPC being scaled back. Believe it or not an annual EPC is being looked at, but our money would be on every 3 to 5 years.
The responsibility will lie with the marketing agent.
Frustrating we know but it’s not confirmed yet. DECC are the body managing the review, consulting with the EPC accreditation bodies.
Certainly, it does seem that October is the date, the 7 day window is pretty much confirmed, along with the marketing agent obligation. However, until DECC release a formal statement it is still unconfirmed.
